Wielka Świąteczna Akcja Dobroczynna 2023 – summary of the 6th edition

This year’s Wielka Świąteczna Akcja Dobroczynna, organized by the PETRALANA Foundation for the benefit of Bytom’s community , is the sixth edition of this beautiful event. Each year we grow, expanding support for those in need of help during the holiday season. We cooperate with Bytom Coke Plant and Koleje Śląskie – together we can do more – we are expanding our reach and growing stronger as a community that cares about helping those in need in our city.

Wielka Świąteczna Akcja Dobroczynna is an initiative that includes support for children from Bytom’s day care centers and families in difficult life situations. During this year’s edition, in the pre-Christmas period, we met with children in three different places – the „Arka Noego” socio-therapeutic community center, M. Konopnicka Elementary School No. 16 and the Bytom branch of the Society of Friends of Children in Bytom. In a festive atmosphere, amid carols and stories about Christmas traditions, we presented 170 gifts with sweets and materials for artwork to the youngest of the visited institutions. With our support we also reached 50 of the most needy families from the Bobrek district of Bytom, who received packages full of goodies to enrich their Christmas tables.

As every year, as part of Wielka Świąteczna Akcja Dobroczynna, we also supported people in crisis of homelessness. Concerned for those in need, we distributed 150 warm meals during a Christmas Eve party for the homeless organized by the Petralana Foundation at the Municipal Family Assistance Center in Bytom, with the support of representatives of the Bytom municipality.

The 6th edition of Wielka Świąteczna Akcja Dobroczynna, thanks to the cooperation of our partners – Bytom Coke Plant and Koleje Śląskie, has acquired an even wider reach. Charitable actions done in cooperation between social institutions and businesses, create a strong network of support for those who need it most. Invariably, we invite everyone to join the aid actions organized by the Petralana Foundation, and encourage financial support!
